Been in a HUGE big RUTT recently

I think I'm in some sort of depression because it has been about a month since I've even pulled my camera out (except for maternity progression clients)

So yesterday I pulled my son's friend into my back yard and took some pictures of her.

I'd would LOVE cc on these, focus and color mostly.

It was about 6pm, sun behind her.

Did I fall asleep? Is it 1967 again? I see no issues with the colour in any of them, and while I think they're sharply focused, there's something about her face in 2 and 3 that doesn't see quite sharp. Might have to do with where they're hosted...

I like the photos and don't think they are focused REALLY sharp but I like that, I prefer a bit softer feel to portraits. The colors look really great! I'm not a huge fan of the hair piece, that's a personal preference so it doesn't matter what I think about that anyway.

yes, the hair thingy is a friends, she makes them..... so I just stuck it in her hair so she could use the picture on her website....

This lens, it is a Sigma 24-70 2.8 but it is really busted up and I got it cheap from another photog for like $150 dollars, The focus is always hit or miss it seems. I am not blaming the lens, it is probably user error (haha) but it seems to happen the most with this lens.

I sold my 50mm and I wish I would have kept it the only other one I have is my 35mm and I am not real fond of that one outside for portraits anymore.

I think I'll practice again today. I was in such a slump (well still am, going through a separation/divorce sucks) but photography always used to make me feel better or lighten my mood but even that has not made me happy this past month. But it seemed to help yesterday, so maybe I'm just getting out of the slump haha

I agree... I noticed that too.

I wanted to say that the focus was soft... but then when I looked at it... I don't think it is. It looks more like you skin smoothed a little too much and then over-sharpened her eyes a bit too much as well. They're like two extremes that are not complimenting each other very well.
