Brilliant concept! I am convinced that you can never go wrong with an umbrella. I love all the shapes...
Anyway, tend to go the same route myself. I shoot a file to get as much detail as possible. Then adjust the contrast etc in ps. On this end the detail in the umbrella is getting lost. Again, it may be my monitor.

Great work. I'd clone some colour behind the knee on the left leg.
