Beginer looking for c&c

Here are a few shots I took with my new Cannon XS. They were shot in auto with the kit lens. Any advice would be appreciated. The images have not been edited due to lack of experience. Thank you for looking

yes put it in manual and throw the kit lens away haha ok well at least put it in manual....the 5th one u got a pretty good thing with that one 1 2 and 4 look very snapshotish and i liek 3 but its overexposed....get a book on your camera and learn how to use it in manual....then get udnerstanding exposure and read read read and learn and keep trying....
