Beginner: All Prime?

35/85 combo is a good choice. Although you might be better off just starting with the 35mm by itself. You'll get a better idea of what you want in a 2nd lens by using the camera.

You also might consider an off-brand pro-quality zoom like a sigma 24-70mm f2.8.

I know you said you were buying new, but be careful if you do buy used to have someone who knows what to look for check out the lens.
