These pictures were taken with a Nikon D3100 and 55 - 200 mm Nikkor lens.

I'm getting a better lens soon...this coming tuesday I'm receiving a Nikkor 200-500mm lens for birding. Hopefully i'll get some nice shots at the bronx zoo with it!

Thanks for viewing.

Thanks, I uploaded the pictures. Hope you are willing to rate and give me some tips! :D

1st shot - Underexposed and the resolution is too low (cropped too much or combination of that and lack of detail from other factors).

2nd shot - Nothing particularly wrong with it. Could brighten up the sides a bit. The shot would be more interesting with some more space at the top and sides of the shot (framed wider). The reason why is because there's something going on (action is happening), but it's too tight of a shot to tell enough of the story.

3rd shot - Nothing wrong. A little dark around the edges. This one could even be a little tighter, or a long exposure would make the current framing of the shot more interesting.

4th shot - Noisy and everything looks out of focus. Colors aren't popping and nothing is particularly interesting. Flowers are always nice, so by default the picture isn't unpleasant, but a lot more could be done.

5th shot - Nothing particularly wrong. There's many directions you could go to capture a much more interesting landscape shot. Some techniques you can look at include the rule of thirds, leading lines. You could look up youtube videos on landscape photography as well (but don't get caught up too much with what goes on in Photoshop and Lightroom).

Overall good set.

1st shot.
It really helps to have the sun at your back and to wait until the birds are flying towards the sun. I know this isn't always possible.
