I dont like #2 and #3 composition. Keep up the good work.

Way too many images to be able to provide serious comment; may I suggest picking 2 - 4 of those you consider your best and submitting those?

I really like the book of matches! Perhaps my favorite. I think the fly is a little underexposed, and would maybe benefit from a tighter crop, but the textural details in many of these are very nicely rendered.

#1- works. maybe slightly sharper in the front would help but otherwise I think it works

#2- you used the on camera flash and need more ambient lighting

#3- it's flat. good composition except for you may want to get more of his hands in

#4- decent. try take it tighter on the flames next time

#5- classic fireworks. this is a photo that needs a foreground

#6- ??????

#7- not bad. I might have focused on the head but it works for what it is

#8, 9- get tighter

Yea I don't really know anything about taking portraits.

Yea I thought it might be. If I make another thread in the future I'll be sure to limit my picks.
