Beginner - Studio Shoot

I am a beginner photographer and would appreciate all and any feedback.
My interests are people (portraits) as well as photojournalism. Obviously I am still trying to find my niche

Hi Waldo. Welcome to TPF.

From the small sized image, it looks like his face is reasonably sharp. I like the sense of motion. However, I would suggest to your model to "Start" by pulling his trousers up.

Seriously though, he should be in the left third of the frame to allow space for him to move into the remainder. Your cleanup of the background is a bit haphazard too. There is very little detail of his black clothing, so more cowbell is needed.

I would like to see it horizontally shot, with (as kundalini said) more space on the right. Welcome to The Photo Forum! It is a great place.
