Beginners attempt at Macro, C&C please

Hi guys, These are a couple of photos i took around the home with my D3100. I was hoping if you guys could suggest ways for me to improve both technique and editing.

A few questions... 1) D3100 and what lens? 2)Are you shooting raw or jpeg? 3) Are you using manual focus?

Other comments...in #2 you have what appears to be flash back off the balloon - I assume that is what it is - a balloon? In #3, what is the subject supposed to be? #4 is soft or fuzzy for some reason - out of focus?

At the moment I'm using the stock lens, and being such a novice most of my shots were in jpg till i switched to raw in the last photo. All of them were shot with manual focus as well.

Also the object in #3 is not a balloon but actually a vending machine toy
