Best (and most) Zoom for $1000

Actually only one turned out decent the rest sucked (birds were not cooperating).

I popped it a bit with the sharpness (24,5,4 in Capture NX) this is at 500mm handheld, EXIF: 1/800s f/13.0 ISO1600

By the way I do not recommend shooting this lens at over 300mm handheld... I just don't own a tripod... they cramp my style.

Very nice.. I think I"m pretty much sold on the lens. Its just a matter of when I can convince the wife to let me spend the money now hahahahah..

Hahaha.. long story.. but a good one...
My girlfriend wouldn't let me buy the lens (I have too many hobbies and I just dropped $1000 on a bike).. so I took her to see it at our local Henry's .. and convinced her that it would be the ideal lens for her, since she likes to shoot wildlife...
So hopefully she'll be buying it for "us" within a month or so.. I just have to be patient.
