Best Compact Flash Card

What is the best Compact Flash Card to get that is under $30.00?

I need to get one for my second shooter and was just wondering what is the best card to get. Seeing as my camera doesn't use a CF card I don't want to spend a lot of money on it.

I don't think that 'best' and 'under $30' really go together in this case. :er:

I'm no card expert, but there are a few main things to look at. The capacity of the card and the speed (read & write).
Capacity is pretty straight forward but you may have to really look to find the speed rating. And while faster cards are 'better'...they may not make any difference when you/they are shooting with them.

Off the top of my head, I'd suggest looking at Sandisk Ultra. They have been a good card for the money.

I never skimp on CF cards so always go Sandisk. I've never had any issues with them yet. I use the new Ultras, which are 30/mb sec and fine for my 5D shooting raw. You can pick up 8 gig Ultras for under $30. That's my bread and butter size for shooting, and I always keep six in a Think Tank wallet along with a bunch of older 4 gigs. For some reason, Sandisk has been changing their names so you have to pay attention to the read/write speeds. The past Ultras and Extremes are not as fast. Note: I also keep a few bigger, faster cards for video. But I mostly shoot stills.

Talking about the old vs new Sandisk...I think that what they did was loose the numbers. They used to have the Ultra II and the Extreme II, III and IV. Now they just have the Ultra & Extreme (and maybe their lower end 'plain sandisk' cards).
