Not the best shots, but considering I was on a moving boat with only my D90 (not the best AF) and my Nikon 70-300 (not the best at 300) I was surprised I got anything.
These are 70% crops.

that is an old eagle. in th efirst photo he looks plastic.....

Oversharpened a bit that causes a slight halo on the edges making it look pasted into the shot, back off the usm a little.

Danny, not an old eagle. It's probably a three to four year old that still has some of it's juvenile feather patterns. Another year or two and it will have the crisp whites and solid body coloring.

Looks pretty good, oversharpened and maybe a tad underexposed. My vote is fourth year eagle. The tail has a good amount of white, the bill is almost all yellow and there is almost no white in the wing pits... I'm surprised you shot these at 240mm, The eagle must have been very close!

Flew over the pontoon boat while it was tangling with another bird.
Tough to get a line of sight with the stupid roof of the boat getting in the way.
