Bird - Dog

Here are 2 pictures with my Pentax k100d...just trying to learn! I am a noob, go easy!

1. This is Tobie, my Grandma's Parakeet? Parrot? Who knows...he talks, he laughs, he's so irritating! But he's also cute and funny...stupid bird!

2. This is my dad's lab, Daisy. Oddly enough, she LOVES playing in the daisies that are in front of our house...hm....I want to give this to him as a gift though. Anyone know how to spruce it up a bit?

Toby is a Quaker Parrot, Miss Stacey.

Looks like you are getting exposure down fairly well! Good job! It looks like you used the onboard flash on that first one? My one big peice of advice is to use natural light WHENEVER POSSIBLE.

Also, since you seem to be getting better with the other things, like exposure, google 'rule of thirds' and start learning more about composition. (neither of these shots are bad with the rule of thirds, imo)

You're like, all gung-ho, and I've been kinda stagnant in my photography for a while...you'll surpass me before I know what hit me!

Try shooting the parrot (with a camera) in natural light, to show more of its lovely plumage. I love the dog picture. Nice capture.
