Black Friday in Relation to Photography Sales?

Along the lines of black friday, does Nikon traditionally offer rebates on glass towards the end of the year? Itching to get the 70-200MM 2.8 Nikon.

Picked up a few of the Sandisk 8GB/30MB Second Class III cards on ebay for about $30 a pop delivered. (new in box with proof of purchase removed because they probably fell off the back of a truck. work like a champ though)

No. Nikon doesn't have to resort to the kind of sales tactics Canon does.

first off, sorry i am not sure where i should put this thread. i figured the experienced peeps might know more so im putting it here. feel free to correct mods.
well so black friday is coming up and i have been looking at getting a d90 or d300 and i was thinking maybe i score a huge deal on a camera on black friday.
have you guys had any experience in this?
is it likely that cameras will be a lot cheaper on black friday?
any stores in particular (best buy?) that have great photo sales??

I work at Best Buy and don't count on it. They won't show us the ad but based on the numbers of certain models I got, it will only be cheaper SLRs, discontinued point and shoots and cheaper and midrange models that are probably going to be discontinued soon. The higher end cameras, if they are on sale, isn't much off. Its packages you save money.

Amazon normally has great deals on SD cards for Cyber Monday...the following monday after Black Friday. Your best bet will be with online stores over physical stores. I would not expect to see a blow out deal on a new DSRL camera, but you might find a nice bundle.

I think year end sales are probably better than BF prices. Alot lot of merchants want to drop inventory then.

I just got back from my sister and brother in-law's Thanksgiving dinner,and when I got home, there was a Nikon USA Black Friday ales circular delivered to my e-mail box.

They have $200 off of the 70-300 VR with purchase of a D5000, D90, D300s,or D700, which is listed as a "4.3x zoom". The D700 is $2699.

They have moved the D300s to "new low price" of $1699.

The D5000 kit with "3x 18-55 VR Zoom~Nikkor lens,camera case and DVD" is now now knocked down to $699, or $150 off the regular price. The D3000 one-lens kit has been reduced to $499. If you buy either a D3000 or D5000, the 55-200 non-VR lens is only $99, or the VR model is $149--so, both of those lenses have $100 off the normal price.
