Can others edit my Photos

I did this shoot about a month ago when there was a huge change in the weather. It was so nice out so I had to take advantage. It was supposed to be a couples shoot but her fiance was ill. I was just pinning to get some shots in. So I said "Lets go do a portrait session." It only lasted about 15 minutes because of her sick fiance.

The thing that bothers me was the hair covering the eyes.

C&C are welcome :D Thank you in advance.

I don't mind the hair covering her eye in the first shot at all, I think it adds a little mystique. What does come to mind is her hair is so dark a little more light on top would have really helped.

I really like the colors in these two! The only thing I would personally change is the processing you've done on the eyes, just a little overdone. Other than that, looks good! :)

When you say 'overdone'. Could you elaborate for me? Thank you so much for commenting.

Light on top. How would I achieve that outside? I think it's a great idea. Only a matter of finding a way to execute it. :D

When I look at the images, her eyes appear to have been over-sharpened to the point where they're un-naturally sharp and have a somewhat fake appearance.
Ahh ok. I figured that's what was meant by it but wasn't entirely sure. I tried to do a few new techniques with 'selective' sharpening. I'll muddle with it a bit then repost to see if they look more natural. Thank you.

Here's a repost of the first one with out such harsh sharpening to the eyes. Thank you for the C&C btw. If you think it needs even less please feel free to say that.

Also looks like there's been some tweaking of the color that looks unnatural. Doesn't really fit, in my opinion.

I'm not one of those that are put off by cropped crowns as long as it is purposed. In fact, I think it can be quite impactful. However, yours doesn't give me that feeling and it's just the way you shot it. The reason I mention that is because if you had cropped it tighter in post to get just above the part in her hair, you will be missing the a good part of the scarf and hand. Speaking of the hand, try to avoid having the hand, particularly a female hand, square to the camera. It makes it look larger than it should and generally be brighter than the face. It would show better from a side view. The face in portraiture is paramount, that is where all the focus and viewers attention should go. I would also clone out the extended index finger. It's superfluous and looks out of place since her other fingers are curled.

Thanks for sharing.
