New to this site, and new to photography. I have enjoyed reading the posts and gaining insight and wisdom.
Requesting some tips on shooting bowlers in bowling allies. I am using Nikon D5100, and flash prohibited during matches. Thanks in advance!

Shutter speed set for action and try to stand under a light for more lighting instead of a darker area. I used to bowl league so I know where you are coming from when it comes to photos in a bowling alley. Used to take photos in one in my area when I was on league and it was tough (back in the 35mm days) back then even. A lot of bowling alleys don't have much lighting.

Bump your ISO up to the point you can shoot at 1/250 at a min. You will need a fast lens (Low Aperture number) to ensure you get the shot in the lower light of those enclosed spaces.

1/125th sec shutter will stop motion well enough. You will need every stop you can get.
