Hi Guys,

What do you guys think? The colors on this photo were not changed at all. Should they have been toned down?

I think it's a cool photo. I'm just wondering about the colors and how you guys might have handled them.

1/25, f8, ISO 100, focal length 20mm

I like this; I think it's a very nice image, and I see nothing wrong with the colours. I do wonder though if a different composition could make it even stronger; perhaps shot from the other side of the bridge (the bridge on the left side of the image, not the opposite shore) and angled slightly so that it takes the eye to the far shore with more of the cityscape. Either way, good job!

Thanks for the ideas! I ask this because a buddy of mine told me the colors in the middle looked a bit blown out. It got me thinking. I though about reducing the saturation a bit (before the critique), but didn't.

I like it. I think I'd be tempted to add a little contrast overall and selectively sharpen just the bridge. You might get it to pop out of the background that way.

Nice shot! I agree with tirediron that the bridge on the left side could make a (potentially) better composition. Otherwise, the colours are gorgeous, and I don't think the middle looks blown out. Kinda gives a feel to the photo.

Thanks!

I have a question about the comp. Why the bridge on the left side? I would think that it would look the same just from the opposite side. Is this just a matter of preference? Maybe I don't see it because I'm lefty. lol.

The next spot I will try will be from the left, but I was just wondering why it might be better?

Just my opinion, but looking at the photo, the buildings on the right seem to vary more in height. They also have more variations in light. Having them on the right would give the photo a pop. Compared to the buildings on the left, they are very dull and as you can see, almost no variation.

Again, that's just my opinion. ;)

I see what you mean. Thanks!
