Bringing home the food

Out playing with my Sigma 70-200 and decided to play at f2.8......caught this in flight mother bird bringing home the food.....was surprised that f2.8 would be this sharp.

Isn't it funny how, captured like this, it doesn't even look like a bird any more, but much rather like ... say ... a squirrel with wings? Shows that in the end all vertebrae are just that, doesn't it? What is it really? A roadrunner?
