If he was a good friend you'd think they would know that he wasn't very responsible.

That was my thought exactly after reading this.

Either they weren't really that great of friends... and they asked him to do it because they were being cheap.

Or they knew he was irresponsible and STILL asked him to do it............. because they were being cheap.
