Burlesque

Here are my first few promotional shots for Foxie and Georgina two Burlesque Dancers.
These were taken with my 5D MKII.

Sadly the shots of Foxie that have been altered to look like comic book images haven't uploaded to here too well!!

I also don't care for the processing. Some of the images could be interesting but the processing gets in the way IMO. Might post fewer images if you want specific feedback.

The processing is too stylized to comment on much. It's clear you had a deliberate intent, and I assume you nailed it. I don't much like it, but as an advertising/marketing campaign, it's got a "look" and it's consistent, and not a lot else matters.

The poses are borderline lame. Nice costumes, but the girls feel like Suicide Girls meets hipster wannabee burlesque.

I don't know if these girls are associated with it in any way, but there IS a hipster thing of amateur burlesque, and lordy is it terrible. Real burlesque is hard and takes commitment, talent, and a ton of practice. I find myself wishing that these photos did a better job of portraying that. Show my some commitment. I want the girl to commit to the pose, to sell it like her life depending on it, not like she's just larking around in a charlie chaplin costume she found in a trunk someplace.

I guess my age is showing because I don't really care for this style of photograph. Nor do I care for the "in your face" poses in some shots. Having said that, I suppose that you did what you set out to do so the shots succeed on that level. I fully realize I'm probably in the minority in my view of these. I'm more of a traditionalist I guess. But I give you full marks for creativity
