Buying on the internet... in Canada.

Are there any Canadian folks out there who are familiar with Vistek for buying photography supplies?

I've used Henry's in the past, and know them to be trustworthy and have decent prices... But I have noticed that Vistek offers better prices on some things...

I just don't know anything about them and I don't trust very many internet stores unless I know of them...

I need some seamless paper and Vistek has a better price...

I've not used them. How do they ship? If it's UPS or FedEx, you'll get stuck with some very steep "brokerage" fees at the border, plus a GST/HST levy courtesy of Revenue Canada, as well as [potentially] import duty. Just make sure that you factor all of that into the price and see if it still works out cheaper.

They advertize "Free Shipping" on most of the items I've looked at...

But as for the Brokerage Fees (duty I assume)... That is why I prefer to order from a Canadian shipper.

I buy at vistek localy all the time, i rent gear from them, always had good service. its canadian and you are in canada, you wont pay brokerages fees.

Next time you need somthiging Ron, you might want to look there. Compared to Henry's I found some prices to be better, and others to be worse. I guess its just like grocery shopping... Sometimes you get a better deal at Sobet's other times at Superstore. lol

When I was living out west I bought quite a few things from Vistek. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. I would not have any qualms about buying from them online.
