What's new

C&C for 38 year old newbie!

Just pointing out that, middle age people can be newbs too. But any C&C is always appreciated, I never take it for granted.

These are genuine beginner photos, looking for genuine C&C - but yes, the idea came from a recent thread.

So I guess 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

kundalini: yes it was, yes i was, and yes noyze was too. with all the back and forth in that thread between us (myself AND noyze) im supposed to come here and see this post by him and assume its for real?

noyze: my apologies. i really do like the boat and the bus. though, probably if the boat were a touch more to the right of the frame and probably in b&w as well it could be a nice dramatic photo.

In my opinion #1 would have looked better if it was like this.....

They could be better but I dont think their as bad as everybody else says. And one last thing, I hope that wasnt your boat man.

 no it isn't mine. nice edit too!

Pretty bad for 38...
SUCKS! I think by 38 you should be doing MUCH MUCH better.
:lmao:
Honestly, I like both.
I like the feeling the first one gives you... the boat in the middle of nowhere...
The second one is pretty cool,
almost gives you a creepy feeling...
Reminds me of the movie "The Midnight Meat Train" ... dont see it...

It 'is' creepy... the people are weird.

lol good thread! here I just turned 41 and just got back to shooting, I only have a 450D and a 70-200EF and am trying my best to learn my camera! these are all unedited shot this last Sunday.. The REASON they are unedited is I dont know crap about photo editing, I have a "borrowed" copy of Photoshop, but at this point still totally clueless but learning..

Well anyway here are a couple of my Favorite, please shoot me in the foot and edit away lol..

Hey! Start your own thread

i'm responding as a fine artist (not a photographer).

i feel like the first shot could be more dynamic. there is a simple rule in composition where if you place something in the center (or very near center) it will create a static composition. this is what you have created here (centering subjects might be done intentionally, but i don't think this particualr piece lends itself well to that treatment). the horizon is also cutting the frame in 2 (more or less) equal halves. i find the imagery of the boat compelling and feel like you could achieve a more dynamic composition if you were to pay closer attention to these things.

the one point perspective bus piece holds more interest for me in general. i think they both have potential.

as far as the technical stuff i am a complete ludite with photography (which is why i am here).

keep working.

nevermind them, noyze! i think you're doing a wonderful job! keep posting! :)
WTF?

It's obviously a piss take from the other thread.... which you were apart of. This is a joke and nothing else AFAIK. (and probably should have been posted in the Just For Fun gallery)

but then it wouldn't be fun
