C&C For a 15 year old newbie!

My bad.... I miss-typed SB-800, it was a SB-600 I was referring to for $220.

The SB-800 is no longer in production, but I have been fortunate enough to pick up a couple of refurbed/used SB-800 of late for ~ the amount I bought for new.

I think the Sigma 70-300 APO Macro will actually do quite well, after seeing some sample photo's it takes great bird pictures and excellent macro. The only meh think about it is the bokeh which is not that great. But for $150, I can't argue. It's much better for me to have that as I will then cover 2 ranges with 1 - macro and tele. All I need is a wide angle lens (thinking just the kit 18-55) and I will have 4 ranges covered - wide, portait, zoom, and macro!

Also, just take everything I say lightly, I'm not saying people who spend a lot of money on a hobby are dumb. Most good hobbies cost lots of money (sadly), I am also into computers and rigs costing $8000 are not totally uncommon. And please, please just ignore the 15 year old comment in the title. I never knew everyone would get in a hubbub over it...

Those "studio" pics were taken in a cardboard box. With 3 holes in it. And one EXTREMELY orange lamp. All made with a 50c budget.

#5 is a little too strong imo, but it only just works, but only just anyways thats all i have to contribute atm

a tad harsh i think.....i take his title to mean "im 15, so im only a baby in this big bad world so go easy"...i think its no harm!!

But if you post good photos (like some above) and say your only 15, some people could get the idea that your boasting!!! thats all!

I love the frog & flower shots! Nicely composed, crisp focus, nicely done. I like the bike shot, but I would like it better if you got the whole bike - the wheels cut out annoys me a bit.
