C&C for Arboreal Challenge

Hey guys I wanted to post this photo to get some feedback before I entered a official one. He is currently in Blue ( He's shedding his skin) so I am going to take more pics in a few days when his colors are really vivid. So just let me know what I can improve for the Arboreal Challenge. i.e. Background, Comp, lighting (this was just natural light)

I'd go for a closer crop on the snake; the empty space image left is a bit wasted. The colours look very good.

i think the crop is fine, but there is a loss of detail/ washout on the top right of the snake
