C&C From the experts

I've posted a couple pictures in the 'beginners' forum - i'm not sure where i'd rather fit in, over there or over here but i've found a lot of the conversation over there.. 'bichy' and was hoping to get a calmer outlook over here on subject matters!

Here's a couple of my works from 2 interlinked projects about Auschwitz and the War. First one is a self portrait, 2nd is my mum's hand holding a photo of my Grandpa

OH YES! Sorry i forgott o explain that! It is the scanned 6x7 negative which i scanned at 3000dpi and originally printed at 6 or 7 foot tall for an exhibition, it was originally quite grainy because i used 400iso film and wanted it to look old yet modern (odd concept?) alot of people said sepia tone would have been a better communication. So anyway, when i resized it for my online portfolio on my laptop it became sooooo noisy and then i lost the original file and this is what i've been left wiht for the time being!

Okay, I misread your post But that shouldn't have anything to do with you wanting C&C on your photos?

I like the second one, I saw it yesterday.Can you smooth out somewhat the heel of her hand though?
The first one is too grainy, her face has bled into the grain itself. Separation would help this,no?

I just wondered what sort of users of this forum compared to the 'beginners' forum might come along and comment!

Never noticed that with the hand, with the seperation of my face from the background, my assistant on the shoot said that she liked it because it was as if I was 'fading' into the background, like a strong message. I did find, though, that being the subject of my own work did make it hard to take complete control and i haven't done one since!
