Perhaps you could tell us a little more about what you were trying to achieve? The first one is interesting, but the lighting is a little too harsh too really work in my opinion.

I've only been at this for maybe a year and have mostly been sticking outdoors sorts of things without paying much technical attention to lighting. These pictures are me trying to take more "basic" shots that are still interesting to look at and heavily depend on lighting.
