what needs to be done to improve this photo in your opinion?

I would like to see a hairlight used and the subject wearing a different colour shirt; something which does not merge with the background, OR use a light background.

Just MHO, but I don't mind the dark shirt or the fact that it blends with the background, but a head light might be nice, to separate the hair.
