I own Lowepro backpacks and a Tamrac rolling bag.

As has already been mentioned, though, recommendations are difficult without knowing not only the size laptop you have, but how much gear you want to pack into the bag...

Tenba messenger takes 15.6 inch laptop with section in front for dslr and few lenses. Not for loads of gear but for few bits. Loads of pockets and well made

I've got a Lowepro Computrekker AW (backpack style bag with a laptop sleeve). I doesn't look like they make that one anymore but I'd guess it's pretty similar to the Pro Runner AW listed above.
I've toted that bag around the world and back, over the last 10 years. It's certainly not perfect but it's well made and still looks and works great.

In the Lowepro lineup, the 'AW' stands for 'All Weather' and they come with a built in rain cover. I've only had to use it a few times, but it's a nice feature if you plan on being outdoors a lot.

I went with the Case Logic SLRC-206 for my recent vacation to Europe. I was carrying my 13" MacBook Pro on that trip, but I have since also used this with my 15" MacBook Pro.

I have a cheap canvas bag labeled "Caden" I bought off ebay for ~$40.

This is my everyday work bag. It will hold my lunch, camera, and has its own padded compartment for a laptop.

I also use it as my lens bag when I'm at an event
