IIRC, the ftb has a standard ¼x20 thread. 'Pert near any ¼"x20 QR plate will work.

then somehow polaroid doesn't use a standard 1/4x20 cuz it sure isn't working

what would the correct QR plate for a canon ftb actually look like? a hotdog bug that wraps around it somehow?

Friction between the rubber on top of the plate and the bottom of the camera ... assuming the screw has been tightened enough.

Any plate that does not have the black bump would likely work much better... that black bump is supposed to go into a hole on the bottom of a particular piece of equipment or a camera. If that bump is not spring loaded then its protrusion will cause problems. There is probably a 99.999% chance that removing this black bump will eliminate your problem.

So the flat plane of the QR plate doesn't touch the baseplate of the camera?!?!

Or does the 'bump' retract because it's spring-loaded?
