Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Just curious:
who else here works full-time or even part-time in Camera retail to supplement a Photography job.

I wish the guys that work at my local camera shop worked part-time as photographers. The photos they post on their website and Facebook are so horrific I have trouble trusting anything they say about photography. One of them was bragging that he hardly uses anything but his iPhone anymore because "it's not about the camera." But...you sell cameras!!!

Ironically, as a business owner I would hire a better sales person vs a better photographer. And phone cameras are the best.

I've worked in sales and done well selling other people's crap. I'd LOVE to work for a camera store-I'm a total gear head. But that would be part time, obviously.

But wouldn't you hire a professional to take pictures of your place of business, rather than someone that takes a snapshot and then HDRs it to oblivion? It's not so much that they can't take a good photo, it's that they don't seem to know what a good photo is. Advertising pictures matter in any business, but when your primary customers are photographers the pictures REALLY matter. It's like getting gardening advice from a nursery where all the plants are dead. It just doesn't inspire much confidence, you know what I mean?

Fussy photographers don't buy as much or shop as much at brick and mortar places as you'd like to think.
I cater mostly to rich hobbyists who can drop $10k to $40k on gear and not even blink.

I'd recommend they get a Phase One XF IQ3 then. :)

No but I would work at Camera retail with no wages 8 hours a day if I get 50% off all gear,I get an hour lunch break and get to spend 7 hours a day out testing all the gear. When do I start.

Nah. I sold them two D5, one 1Dx MkII and pushing for the Holy Trinity for both systems.

The D5 and 1Dx 2 are kids toys, they need serious hardware.

Hasselblad H6D 100 or go home, I say.
Dude, it was his first camera and he wanted to compare Nikon vs Canon because he wasn't sure which was better.
