What's new

Can I Whinge and Whine please?

Well... back from the Air Show. Didn't have much luck with the planes in flight. Just couldn't focus in quick enough. But I think I got a few good abstract type photos.

My dang camera was stuck on ISO 1600 for most the day! GRRRRR! So 2 of my fav shots I gotta adjust. I'll post them soon.

Looking forward to seeing them!

wow. You and I should form a club. The "people who understand that sometimes equipment CAN limit you" club. We'll be a pretty lonely group though. :)

Between the people who don't want to upset the folks who don't have uber gear, and the folks who are defensive because they don't have uber gear... well... we may get another 1-2 members. :)

Well how about one who has "acceptable" gear and agrees with you? Add me to the group. :)

But the thing is, she mentioned that most of her pics are going to be of grounded stationary aircraft. That does even things out juuuust a little.

This way, if her photo skills, composition and other photographic choices (and a healthy amount of PPing skills), are better than Mr Ex and his new A200 (which is another factor... almost everyone with a new camera doesn't initially have a clue how to get the best out of their new gear until they learn!), it should be relatively easy to show him up!

Or, she could lay a piece of iron bar upside his head, grab the new A200 before it hits the ground and have the best of both worlds!

 Love it! But only in a perfect world, hey?

Uploaded photos to flickr. Still 2 I have to adjust.

They're nothing spectacular. Would've preferred the acrobatics but oh well. There were heaps of people there and saw loads of photographers, and those lenses? Did all I could to stop myself from drooling.

We left there after a couple of hours and went to Kuranda. Small touristy market place in Australia and went to the Butterfly sanctuary. That was tough but managed some nice photos there. Had some problems with focusing in tho. Even in manual it auto focuses on the subject but will occasionally focus in on it's own subject. I tossed away about 30 blurred photos. Funny thing about the butterflies is that they pretty much stayed until I got the shot then fluttered off. ;)
