Canadian Nikon Pricing: Deals for US Customers?

There appears to be Nikon "international" one year warranties offered now, which are presumably valid with Nikon USA.
Nope.
If you're in the US and buy a Nikon DSLR/lens product from a store in Canada plan on sending it to Canada for warranty work.

Not so sure about that since it will work for me in the States, something I've not seen to date.
Nikon USA Service will not work on any Nikon gear that does not have a US serial number. Not under warranty, and not for pay.

Nikon authorized repair shops can work on whatever they want to work on.

IIRC, because of Canadian law Nikon has to use a warranty in Canada that is different in several aspects from it's US or International warranty.

Not entirely. One year International warranty on lenses purchased in Canada, 5 years on lenses from Nikon.ca.

Giving this a bump as the loonie edges towards .70US. Nikon's Xmas pricing on selected items makes for some bargains this year for American buyers.

I was saying this awhile ago when the D750 came out. You'd save a few hundred bucks buying a CA model over a US model.

The problem with the Canadian Loonie dropping is that it doesnt help us Canadains but it sure makes it worth for our southern brothers to come up north to do some sopping with 30% discount.
D3300 is 400$ (CAD) which is 280$ (USD).....................not bad, and you get to meet us Canadians, the nicest peaple on the planet ;)

Some more prices

D7200 1200$ (CAD) which is 840$ (USD)
D5500 800$ (CAN) which is 569$ (USD)
D610 1700$ (CAN) which is 1190$ (USD)
D810 3400$ (CAD) which is 2380$ (USD)

These are just few examples

A very interesting idea but will have to check it out. I have little trust in big camera makers and their warranty wars. I know about the Loonie. I guess when Ronie RayGun was prez of the US we should have called our dough the Star Bucks. If Frump gets the job we will have our own Loonee-Tooney.

With our loonie hovering around US$.75, Nikon products have become something of a bargain for US customers. The current Nikon Canada "Back to School" promo on till mid-September and sell-thru rebates offered to select dealers have delivered some nice pricing for us--and even better deals for American buyers.

Sites like photoprice.ca are worth a look. Shops like Aden Camera(a Nikon Canada-authorized dealer) in Toronto offer some of the lowest Nikon pricing in Canada.

Examples? A D7200 body for C$1135, which works out to around US$851. There appears to be Nikon "international" one year warranties offered now, which are presumably valid with Nikon USA.
And we can get our meds there at a discount also!

These deals will only get sweeter as the loonie drops. I suspect, though, that Canadian prices will be going up next year as they always do when the exchange rate drops.

Photoprice.ca does an OK job tracking prices among authorized Canadian Nikon retailers--a good source for cross-border photo gear shopping.

The prices I quoted are not some special deal, these are the standard deals, maybe on boxing day the prices will go even lower.
