The background is distracting, it needs drastic cropping and the subject is not that interesting.

Ooh congrats on your new lens! Unlike the previous poster I actually don't find it to be a bad shot. The subject is separated from the background amply and I think there is a good moment here. This isn't the CC forum so I shan't critique further but in short I think it's a good moment.
