canon 28-135 kit lens trade

I have a Kit lens from the 40D (28-135mm) and would like to trade anyone for a wide angle lens. I can do even trade or if its worth it, my lens+cash. I've been exploring fashion shoots & portraits. 28mm just isn't enough for me.

You know that most fashion shoots and portraits use a telephoto lens, right?

well for what I need, I would like to shoot the person from head to toe + plus some. It would be fine but I usually work with limited space to backup.
