Anyone who knows how the 300D works, or understands this specific feature, please help

I want the lens to focus when I press the star and then stay focused in that plane. I don't want it to continuosly keep changing. Just stay! Anyway, is this possible on a 300D?

Thanks

I don't own one but...

One shot AF is possible in these modes (Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Night Scene, A-DEP) you just press the shutter button half way until the camera gets focus...then while holding the button you can recompose.

I don't know if you can set it to focus to the * button. This would be a custom function and the D300 does not support custom functions.

Heh. That explains why I couldn't find a CF list for it.
Yeah, it's a CF on all the EOS cameras I'm familiar with. That's probably not possible with that model.
