Hi
I was hoping for some advice on lens choice and useful reading material for someone who is just starting off into photography. I would like to devote as much time as possible and therefore am quite dedicated.
At present I have a Canon 400D with kit lens 18-55. I would like to purchase between two-three lens, ideally second hand given my budget - which is currently between £350 - 400.
I haven't yet decided as to what area of photography i would like to specialise in, but it is likely to be between portrait and landscape. I appreciate this is a broad range and might make it difficult on the lens recommendation. But I would like to try out various types and see what I like/good at.
There are a lot of stores (including second hand) offering advice but I'm suspicious that they only recommending lens they have in stock - understandably so!
And one final request, as mentioned earlier, can you recommend a book which is good for someone starting off in this field, a book which explains things like aperture f stop etc.
Any advice/guidance would be much appreciated.
