Canon 85mm 1.8

Yesterday I purchased the Canon 85mm 1.8 Oh man what fun! :thumbup:

Awesome Jake! I tried using the lens over the weekend but had a lot of blurry shots. I think I might be trying to get to close to the subject. Hopefully practice will help.

The closest focus distance of that lens is 0.85m / 2.8 ft. So if you were trying to focus on anything closer than that, you would have had a problem.

Also, keep in mind that when shooting at large apertures, your DOF is very thin. So it can be challenging to get your focus exactly where you want it.

While focused at 2.8 feet with an aperture of F1.8...
