Canon beats Nikon!

I read one focus point and face detection and though I was going to scream for joy.

Hahaha I knew it was a joke before I even opened it. Based on the title. :lmao:

I was thinking...The Ultimate P&S camera.

Of course Canon would call it a 2D, not a D2. ;)

I got all the way to "infrared eye-position sensing focusing" before I realized you were bs-ing me. Well played.
But that's the most realistic part of it. Canon has had eye controlled focusing since the late 80's. None of the digital bodies have it, and I don't think it's IR ... but it does track your eye and focus on what you're looking at.

Canon had similar technology on their later-model EOS 35mm film cameras, it was called Eye Control, but it had multiple focusing points. My Elan 7e has it, the EOS 3 and almost all of the different variations of 1's had it too. And it DOES work I never figured out why they didn't include it on their digital line.

You have to calibrate the camera to your eye, which is a fairly simple process you can do it in 20 seconds. You look at the focus point and the camera focuses to it, it is not lens specific it's camera body and user specific. 99% accurate too. It's really trippy on a fast USM lens.
