Hi all,
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with my Canon EOS 1 film camera issue? Seems my camera no longer advances the film. I noticed my film was stuck about halfway through the roll and that was it! The frame counter no longer displays frame count, and there's no movement. I had to physically pull the film out of the camera. Hoping someone might have an idea what the problem is? Tried manually rewinding the film back into the cartridge and reloading it, but nothing happens. The loaded cartridge symbol is visible on the LCD screen, but no frame count. Looking forward to your responses.
Thank you,
Mike

Just like the ECU in my 88 Mustang. Old electronics need to be replaced. Unfortunately no one that I know about repairs those older EOS's. If my old EOS A2E fails it is going on a shelf for display and I'll just keep using my manual Pentax's.

Thank you,
That's what I was afraid of. I guess I was hoping for a more positive answer, but it seems like I'm not going to have any luck with this one. I've got quite a few working film cameras, but this was my favorite. Oh well, I'm clearing a space on my shelf.
Thanks for your responses

Sad fact is old cameras are made from old parts--a particular problem once electronics played a bigger role. Some 30+ year-old cameras survive, others don't.

You're absolutely right. These old cameras are a gamble. This time, looks like I lost. Thanks for our response.

Just noticed another strange thing with this camera. Seems to make a noise like the shutter clicking when I install the battery grip. Anyone have an idea what that could be? Just does it once. It's really a shame, everything else appears to be functioning as normal.

Dirty contacts between grip and body? Fresh battery?
