Canon EOS Rebel 500 QD

Hi,

I have a Canon EOS 500 with two lenses. I'm wondering if the lenses can be used on a newer Canon DSLR body? say a Rebel SL1, T4i or T5i.

Would I still get nice quality photos if I were to purchase a newer/used Canon camera and use these lenses or would I be better off just buying a brand new camera with a kit lens? say a Nikon D3300 for example.

First lens: Canon zoom lens EF 35-80mm 1:4-5.6 III, 52mm
Second lens: Canon zoom lens EF 75-300 1:4-5.6 II

Thoughts? suggestions? advice?

EF mounts will work on the newer Canon's T4i and T5i. I'm not sure about the SL1.

The SL1 is a crop sensor or Canon EF-S body - so EF lenses will mount on it.
