what is the canon rebel t2i like asd a camera? what are it's best uses? and c an it be used as a normal camera?

It is currently my main (and only camera). I work on my school's newspaper staff and this is the camera I use to shoot all of student life. With 18-55mm kit lens, it is a good starter camera and when pair with some nice L glass it can shoot some really good pictures. The main problem you're going to run into with this is it's lower quality build (when compared to the 7D or 5D) and it's noise at higher ISOs. Over all it is a superb camera for a starter, especially if you have any aspirations of making videos on the side. I wish you luck!

What is a "normal" camera? Do you mean can you put it in auto and not have to worry about all that technical crap? Then yes, it does. But that's spending a lot more money than you need to if you want a camera that can do that and take amazing photos. It's like buying a race car to do 30mph.

I shoot w/ a T2i. I got it about a year ago. It's been great to learn on. I just finally got some decent glass and I can honestly say the camera is not the limiting factor in my photography yet. Although I am starting to want a full frame.

But yeah, if you just want to stick it on auto then you might as well save yourself a few hundred bucks and get a point & shoot.

t2i is a great little camera. Definitely going to be good enough for most shooters. Especially with magic lantern software which you can learn about at How to Turn Your $700 T2i into a $2000 Monster

Are you intending to learn how to control the camera 100% yourself? Do you want to invest in lenses as well as the camera?

Not fully true in general. Also shooting in auto you still will have a better sensor in low light and faster operations. However, if the only interest is landascapes, perhaps no need for them.

Yea, get a Fuji X100 and you'll not need to worry about lenses and you could should auto all you want. A DSLR is just not worth it.

I am wanting to get into photography professionally and will be taking pictures of scenery, portraits, engagement pictures, wedding pictures, animals, and the like. I am looking for vivid coloring from the beginning and sharp images and have heard that the lens is really were the difference is made.

Take a look at TheBiles' lenses in the sig...that nicely wraps up everything you mentioned. Personally, I keep a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 on my T2i almost all the time. (it will make you work though...lol) Don't forget a Speedlite either...the on-camera flash is not what you want to use.

canon rebel t2i/550d is a 18 megapixels digital camera. It is mainly used by professional photographer. It is costly but the picture quality taken with this camera is awesome.
