One of my favorite places in the gorge, but one of the hardest to get to, the Oneonta Gorge.

Had to scale 50 feet of wet logs and trudge through in chest waders. This a semi-long exposure (5s). Notice the flow pattern on the left part of the water, that's where rain water was dripping down from the moss on the walls.

Just awesome as usual. A scene most of us will never see in person. Well done...

Great shot....great that you are young enough to get there. Worth the effort for sure.

Wow, very claustrophobic, great place but quite difficult for man with camera :) . In my opinion this shot require tripod and several exposures to achieve accurate game of light and shadows. For now the grass lights too much and in the shadows is too much black ink I afraid.

I disagree. I think that would ruin the contrast and the overall feeling of the photo. I like it just the way it is. Good job.
The only thing missing in the photo is a pterodactyl flying around.

I've had someone else make a similar comment. The full histogram is here, no blacks or whites clipped. Most of the shots down in there require HDR because the dr is too high when the sun is shining down into the canyon.

I shot a lot of exposure stacks (maybe even for this shot, I'd have to look) but I didn't mind the darker shadows in this single shot render. Thought it enhanced the greens and overall depth. But I could see enhancing the shadow detail a bit to give more life to the dark areas. Thanks for the comment.
