Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I decided to do a little photo shoot with my cat Stubbie yesterday, I was wondering what everyone thought of the photos I took. Thanks in advance. ;)

cute. Nice pictures

Stubbie is a nice looking cat with interesting markings. Unfortunately, it is working against you here IMO because the background colors are very similar and is quite busy. If you could isolate him better with a shallower DoF to blur the background, that would help.

I think the first pic is better, the colors of the cat and the background are too similar in the second tho. Try using different angles and a wider apertue to separate your subject more. (I saw you shot these at f/7.1, try going as wide as you can.)

He blends in nicely which I'm sure helps him with hunting, but it doesn't help you with the photo :) That's why the first one has a better impact. I wonder if a small degree of fill flash would have helped you with emphasizing the face a bit. Also, you used a large aperture, but I wonder if you could have open up even more to make the face and eyes "pop".
But aside from that, SQUEE! KITTEH!! :) (sorry, I'm a sucker for cats, and I don't care what that says, I'm comfortable with my manhood...)

Background is the key here. A light background and maybe even blown out might look nice against the nice markings of your cat.
