Other than the highlights being a bit hot, the conversion seems fine to me.

The white on the front of the schoolhouse is close to being blown out, I would try reducing the highlights, but it's a good subject for a black and white!

PSE 8. I just got it this weekend so this is my first try at black and white with it.

ya i like the photo, and i love old houses. i might have tried to position myself a tad to the right so that the flag stood out more in front of the dark area of the trees

I love this. I agree maybe the white is just a bit to blown out but really not much. And like above poster, maybe the flag more involved. Great though!

Thank you for the comments! I actually only live a few hours away from there and visit often so I will try different compositions next time and hopefully get something better, with more of the flag included.
