i know that this is commonly discussed, i want to hear what every one thinks about cmos vs ccd sensors

should it not matter when shoping for a camera? are they both just god in different ways?:D

Considering the fact that more and more camera companies are using CMOS, evidence seems to point to the idea that CCD is on its way out, now that the CMOS' disadvantages have been over come.

Pointless thread. The differences between CCD and CMOS are down to implementation. CMOS are also cheaper to produce in large sizes due to smaller technical faults during manufacture. But CCDs are cheaper in small sizes which is why they are found in webcams and mobile phones.

Given a good implementation and assuming no defects you should really not be able to tell the two technologies apart by looking at the image.

Lenses matter.

Sensors will be obsolete in a year or two. Focus on what matters, that is what I say.
