Not an expert, so your first one looked really good to me, but even to my weak eye, the second one looks fantastic.

Yes. Can YOU see the difference? It looks much better to me. :)

Although you've cut her off through the middle of the the bust line, I don't think it hurts it much here but it's something to watch in future. The rule of thumb that I've picked up here is not to crop at ankles, knees, crotch, bust, wrists or elbows. A little above or below is OK but not at the actual joint if you can avoid it. Cropping at the joints tends to make it look/gives an impression as though the limb has been amputated (I think I have that right!). Rules can be broken (of course) but they work most of the time.

Keep up the good work and keep posting your photos. I for one will look forward to seeing more. :encouragement:

Yes, I can see it :)

Thank you granddad :)

Thanks smoke! :)

Nice portrait and welcome to the forums!

I agree with the crop advice and would add I would try to move her away from the BG to avoid the shadow, its fine if you want it there though. You could take the catchlight out of the right eye so they match. An additional light to add a highlight to all that hair would maybe make a great photo better?

Did you light the BG? I really do like the background gradient, maybe thst is the actual color of it or its done in post? Tell me how you did it pls!

Today a friend of me was here (he is photographer too) and he told me that I have to try to place my model further from the background and stand further from my model and zoom in more because that will be better. So I will try it when I do another shoot.

I don't light the BG. I used 2 softboxes, 1 on the left and 1 on the right.

For me the shadow of her hair directly behind her is distracting.
Having her further from the background would have negated that.

Nice, looks like my sister when she was younger... eerie resemblance.
