CF Tripods

While I'd love to own a Gitzo tripod, I don't know that I can justify that expense!

So I've been looking at other brands.

Anyone use the Induro or Flashpoint tripods?

Any major differences? Recommendations?

I've got an Induro AX214. It's not a carbon fiber, but it's a very sturdy & versatile tripod. It has no problems supporting my 500mm, and is great for macro work.

Be aware there are many CF tripods which they simply replaced the aluminum tubes with carbon fiber. Sometimes the stiffness, strength, and weight reduction doesn't outweigh the extra cost tacked on top of their aluminum cousins.

A start would be to post your price range and the heaviest setup you are planning to place on top of the tripod. Without this information, the recommendations would be difficult.

Budget wise, around $300-400.

The biggest lens right now is a 70-200 f2.8.
