Challenging situation

I volunteered to take some group photos of my daughter and her friends, on campus, prior to their upcoming graduation in 2 weeks.

This one had really challenging conditions - mid day harsh light, location out in the open sun, 16 subjects at once, all wearing white dresses and the biggest issue of all, I am really out of practice!

Pretty good, IMO. Not sure if a ND or a CP may have helped tone down the brights.

I brightened the girls and toned down the background but I do see a couple of hot spots shining between their dresses that I may go in and try to selectively dodge and burn.

I don’t like to use CP or ND on people pics - I never like the results. I should have tried it on a few of these to see if it helped.

Nice. I'd look past the technical stuff and measure it by the grads' reactions to a shot of a happy milestone occasion.

A nice job. I agree with cgw - the subjects seem to be very happy so a great memory preserved.

I think this turned out well! It's the worst when you have such difficult lighting to work with, but you handled it like a pro. I love how you can see the shadows of the caps on the ground. Congrats to your daughter!!
