What in particular is so meaningful about this image?

While this image doesn't tell the whole story, it is part of a very happy memory for her and I. While I understand this specific image doesn't tell the tale, perhaps at all - it is part of the larger weave.

The best thing you can do is not take c&c personally. It may be a meaningful image to you, but as a disconnected third party viewer, we only tell you what we like and what would make the image better.

O Hey Tyler: I understand that and I certainly do not want anyone thinking that I am taking it personally. That is why I said that I am not one to religiously defend my work. Yes, I like this shot, but the edit without the tree tell me it can be better. That said, I am not against people editing my shots, I am not against constructive critism and in turn I may excerise my right to disagree if I do.

The image has personal worth, and I've admitted it was a mistake to use it as the first shot I posted.

I am still new to using DSLR and I am learning things every day. I look forward to the feedback those with far more experience can offer me.

Everyone that had commented on you first post are seasoned photographers with a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to share. You can learn as much as you want to learn, if you accept their critic. By "accept" I mean to listen to and consider their critic. You are, of course, free to your own opinion. If, however, you come across as though you are saying the critic you have received is wrong, you will quickly find yourself not receiving any critic at all. Best practice is to thank those for their knowledgable critic and decide for yourself what to discard.

Thank you for the warm welcome and wise words. I will strive to be more accomidating, but again I wish to stress I had no intention of demeaning the opinions of others, especially seasoned photographers who's intent is to assist me in growing and developing my hobby.

We seem to have gotten off on a rough start. LOL

You were in no way demeaning. I'm just suggesting that you withhold resistance to critique until you become a little well know on TPF. You will get more assistance that way.
Anyway, keep shooting' and posting. You will learn a lot, if you so wish.
