Bloody hell, that's amazing. It really makes you think just how much profit Canon, Nikon etc are making on their lenses. I know they build them better, but $300???? That's insane.

Actually, you have to take into account their overhead as well, they likely have three times as many factory workers and far more expencive manufacturing equipment than some of these third party companies. Chances are likely that the third party companies are making more than Canon and Nikon in the field of lenses.
