Any aspiring (or actual) lawyers here?

Wondering if anyone knew how someone could be expected to pay child support with no job and is a full time college student with college loans up the ass?

What options does he have? (beside the obvious drop out of college and get a job)

note: this is not me dont want you people to think im the asshole =)
(I use a condom)

Nheh condoms split. The only way to not have kids is to not have sex. Or smash your balls with a couple of bricks.

Is there not anyone they can speak to at the college?

Well, I for one don't think this is the right forum to ask for legal advice. Off Topics or not, this is a question that would have to be discussed with a proper lawyer. You might find them in other, specialised-in-law-forums. I would think that Google is your friend here...

I would advise your friend to find a lawyer, most will have a free consultation. As for quitting college and getting a job....probably what I would do in that situation. I finished my college degree while working full time and caring for my children as well.

As far as LaFoto's comment, I have seen so many post here where people talk about their love life, illnesses, injuries, and so many other things that I think are way too personal to put on a forum. Why is this any different ? I can't believe how folks poor out their lives here, who cares, and who wants to know this kind of info anyway. As far as the fellow with the support issue, I believe that if you play, you deserve to pay. If he has to quit college to support the child he helped make then so be it.

The point Corinna was making is that this isn't the place to get proper legal advice nor do we support any legal advice given on this forum. Or... take the advice given back at your own risk.

I'm wondering how someone could be expected to raise a child with no support from a deadbeat dad...

I'm not trying to be malicious here...just pointing out the other side of the issue.

Well it is ok to ask in here.. just one should not expect to get the best advice one could get since this forum is slightly more photography than law oriented ;)

but still posting such questions here seems legitimate :) .. and who knows, we might have a very successfull lawyer among us, who is just also into photography ;)

I am not an attorney, but looking at it from a practical side and having to have paid child support. Regardless what situation the parents are in, said children still require support for their survival and well being. I would suspect that the courts will and do consider "the best interest of the child".

Finish School. Get good job. Pay lot's of support. If your going to play, you gotta pay.

well, we should not judge this thing since we do not know the full story behind it. actually we do not know anything of the story behind it.

there are some males who did play, but also some that have been just played with...

I agree. I think people are assuming that every guy who divorces after having a child is some sort of trash, and that's not the case. Maybe Im misunderstanding.
